“In Homburg am Main, Johannes Follmer uses cotton fibers and glue to make fine paper.
Like his grandfathers – by hand.”

” The creek “Bischbach” was the reason why the papermaker Leonhard Leinzinger once dismantled his mill in Windheim on Spessartrand and had beams for beams here in Homburg am Main again set up, the clean and clear spring water from the mountain. 200 years later, in the fifth generation, Johannes Follmer draws paper. Handmade paper, one by one, leaf by leaf. While nothing drips from the press, Follmer stirs with a large trowel again in the chest. Move the watery, thin pulp, reach for the large frame, immerse it, swing, tilt back and forth. And with a quick, gentle movement, he raises the sieve, on which now wet, smooth and white a thin layer of cellulose lies, out again.”
