Johannes Follmer is the youngest son of Kurt Follmer, who ran the mill until 1975.
After the mill was shut down in the 1970s, Johannes Follmer endeavored to preserve this unique historical monument.
In the state of Bavaria he finally found a willing investor who took on his concerns. The former mill
was restored and turned into a museum.
He learned the papermaking trade through stays with experts in the USA, as well as in the Eifel and in Berlin.
He is now very intensively involved in the recognition of the Homburg paper mill as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
He does this together with other European mills.
